Update: I revised this piece for Emerald City Comic Con 2021, I think it turned out nice. It's funny how much things change in just a year - My values were all over the place not even that long ago. I'm sure they still are, but hey, life is about the journey not the destination, right? ... Right? (insert Padme and Anakin meme)

I think this is the first piece of earnest fan art I've ever done, to me it seems like just visual candy and I never imagined myself painting pieces like this. But, as it turns out, it's actually a lot of fun! This is Mirajane from Fairy Tail. She is always understated as a character, until she transforms, and reveals that she's among the most devastating forces in the entire guild.

If you've never seen the anime, it's a lot of fun. My wife and I are about 280 episodes deep at this point - it has been our quarantine companion. We joke that when we finish the series is when we will be able to get vaccinated.
